Drive Aiming High in Second Half of 2015

Following a first half that saw an attempt at a Southern Division title come up just shy, the Greenville Drive are reloading as the second half begins.

The Drive posted a first half record of 38-32 and finished a game behind the Savannah Sand Gnats, who clinched a playoff berth. They received contributions from up and down the roster all half long, and the club had a league-high eight players named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game this past Tuesday in Asheville.

The talented infield featured some of the top prospects in the Red Sox organization, including three all-stars, 3B Rafael Devers (.305, 5 HR, 32 RBI), SS Javier Guerra (.276, 8, 32) and SS/2B Mauricio Dubon (.301, 4, 29, 18 SB) along with 3B Michael Chavis (6 HR, 22 RBI), 1B Nick Longhi (.271, 3, 32) and 2B Yoan Moncada.

Also receiving all-star nods in the first half were C Jordan Procyshen (.285, 2, 28), OF Derek Miller (.283, 34 RBI, 10 SB), C Ben Moore (.319), P Mario Alcantara (2-1, 1.93 ERA) and P Michael Kopech (2-5, 2.98, 51 K).
