WHEN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMES TO WORK

Did you know???

One in three women and one in four men have been victims (of some form) of domestic violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Domestic violence has been estimated to cost US employers up to $13 billion each year.

Between one-quarter and one-half of domestic violence victims report they lost a job at least in part due to domestic violence.

Six Upstate South Carolina area organizations are working together to host a dynamic and interactive full-day workshop, “When Domestic Violence Comes to Work,” on Wednesday, June 12, at Thornblade Club.

Workshop hosts include Employers Network, Greenville Chamber, Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Safe Harbor, Safe Homes-Rape Crisis, and Steps to HOPE.

Participants will learn what to do if an employee is a victim of domestic violence and what community resources are available to assist.

Workshop registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. The workshop will start at 9 a.m., and end at 4:30 p.m. Guests will be treated to a Thornblade Club buffet lunch.
