J. Michael King on the guitar and Freddie Vanderford on the mouth harp, playing the Piedmont Blues highlighting the music that blossomed in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia near the beginning of the 20th century, music influenced by ragtime music and early banjo techniques.
Both Michael and Freddie are South Carolina treasures and have received the prestigious Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Award which recognizes individuals and groups that through their music and advocacy have worked to further and preserve traditional culture in South Carolina.
