50 million Americans struggle with hunger every day and one in five of those are children. And here in Spartanburg County, 28% of children live in poverty. That’s why United Way of the Piedmont Young Leaders are partnering with Drayton Mills Elementary to Stock the School’s Pantry. Over holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, many families struggle to afford a holiday meal and many students do not have access to food when they are not in school.
TO PARTICIPATE:
Gather friends, family, or coworkers and start collecting items from the suggested list(below)! Then join Young Leaders at Drayton Mills Elementary on November 15 to help Stock the Pantry and fill bags (provided) for students to take home with them.
