The Spartanburg Earth Day Festival (SEDF) builds community, celebrates the many gifts we receive from Earth, and inspires our citizens to care for our planet. SEDF seeks to include Spartanburg County’s diverse population, engaging all people in appreciation of and concern for our environment and natural resources. Our intent is to educate our community about the fragileness of our planet, the interdependency of people and resources in preserving viable, life-sustaining eco-systems, and to enhance awareness of the role each individual can play in protecting and sustaining our planet. The festival itself is striving to become a zero-waste event with broad community appeal and participation. We accomplish these goals through education, the arts, and hands-on experiences.
