The Mountains to Main Street Festival returns for two weekends in 2019 with a new triathlon course.
The triathlon portion of the festival is getting a new name to reflect its new course, said Jeremey Davis, owner of SetUp Events and the race’s director. The OconeeMan Triathlon will be held entirely around South Cove County Park in Seneca, S.C. and will include a 70.3 mile half triathlon as well as a sprint triathlon. It will be held on April 28.
Meanwhile, the Mountains to Main Street Half Marathon and 5K will be held entirely in Greenville County on Saturday, May 18 with a finish line behind the Peace Center in downtown Greenville. Registration for the events is now open at www.setupevents.com.
Both events will benefit SaBaR Charities, which is a non-profit that strives to promote healthy lifestyles and active individuals living within the Upstate communities. The proceeds of the race are invested back into the Greenville recreation communities to continue to promote active lifestyles as well as benefit tourism around the Upstate.
“We wanted to switch it up a bit this year and try something a little different with the triathlon,” said Jeremey Davis. “It’s exciting to see that the event has become so popular to participate in as well as to just come celebrate with friends and family as they cross the finish line. We are hoping to continue that growth with fresh ideas each year.”
