Attached is the flyer from the Rock Hill Council of Neighborhoods concerning the joint Service Project to help the Marshall Estates neighborhood clean up this old cemetery. This was done once before as an Eagle Service Project years ago, but since there is no Owner or means of maintenance, Nature has once again done her thing. We have moved the workday to Sat. March 30 from 8:30-3:30 in hopes that all NESA members can also lend a hand. We will also be needing power tools (chainsaws, weed eaters (w/blades), chainsaws, & chainsaws etc.) as well as shovels, axes, bush axes, rakes, hoes and clipper/pruners. We also need people that can move limbs, and pick up trash
Members of the RHCN and Marshall Estates will provide lunch and beverages (water, etc.) for the Volunteers and we have also received word from a Student Group at Winthrop that are about 20-30 strong who are interested in helping out as well. The Winthrop Group will have their first work day on March 13, so we will see how much they get done. They plan to have at least some of that group attend again on the 30th to work with us. As you can see, this is a true Community and Team effort and a great way to show just what impact Scouting can have in this regard.
I look forward to hearing from you all soon. If you have questions please contact me @ [email protected] or 803-524-1583
Best Regards,
