The Carolina Youth Symphony, one of the country’s oldest youth orchestras, presents two special concerts featuring the 3 CYS orchestras.
The 7:00 pm concert features the Carolina Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dr. Leslie W. Hicken. This concert will feature the two winners of the Carolina Youth Symphony/Bernhardt House of Violins Concerto Competition. Jennifer Centa, Piano Winner, will perform Piano Concerto in A minor, Mvt. I by Edvard Grieg. Philip Rawlinson, Instrumental Winner on Viola, will perform Suite Hebraique, Mvt. I Rapsodie by Ernest Bloch. Also featured on this concert are works by Ducas, Ravel, and Rimsky-Korsakov.
