You are invited to attend the thirty-ninth annual South Carolina Cello Choir weekend “Cellobration” under the auspices of the South Carolina chapter of String Teachers Association (SCASTA). The event will take place on the beautiful campus of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. The event will be hosted by Yuriy Leonovich (Assistant Professor of Cello at Bob Jones University). Guest clinician will be Michael Haber (Professor Emeritus of University of Akron). Other professional cellists from around South Carolina will also be involved in the event, and there will be displays from instrument shop sponsors. Pirastro is generously donating Perpetual strings for a raffle.

ABOUT SC CELLO CHOIR

Professionals, amateurs, teachers and students from around the region take part in this musical phenomenon, learning from renowned clinicians and music faculty.

Cellists of all ages are invited to participate in this year’s Cello Choir and workshop. The festival is designed for cellists of all ages and ability levels. We especially invite out-of-state cellists to join us!

This is a terrific event for ’cellists of all ages from near beginners who can read music to professionals, and for all lovers of the ’cello as an instrument. We hope to see you there!

This annual event alternates between the University of South Carolina, Furman University, Bob Jones University, Converse College and the College of Charleston.

The Friday Master Classes will be for college and advanced high school students who wish to perform. Teacher recommendation and memorization required. Masterclass participants should buy a 2-day ticket. Listeners and observers are welcome. There will be a $20 fee ($25 after September 14) for participants and no charge for the observers. Masterclass observers who are planning to participate in the Saturday Choir should purchase a 1-day ticket ($20 fee). Please make sure to enter the participant’s name when you purchase the ticket.
