Upstate Writing Month’s kickoff event!
How does a writer translate personal experience and research into effective memoir or personal essay? In this talk, Tessa Fontaine will read from her memoir, The Electric Woman: A Memoir in Death-Defying Acts, and discuss putting personal experience and research down on the page—techniques useful for a writer in any genre.
Refreshments provided by Downtown Deli and Donuts. Books will be available for purchase through representatives of Hub City Bookshop. A portion of proceeds benefits the USC Upstate LLC Student Awards Fund.
Free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. All those who preregister get a free gift!
