Join Katherine Amidon and assistant Joe Thompson for a 60-minute Power Flow featuring the music of Josh White!
Josh White was a blues musician and civil rights activist who was born and raised right here in Greenville, SC. He was the first African-American to have a million-selling record, the first black artist to give a command performance at the White House, and was famous for his civil rights songs. One of our own assistants, artist Joe Thompson, was commissioned by a group called the Committee to Commemorate Josh White to create a sculpture for this purpose.
The project is administrated through the Community Foundation and is partially funded through the city but mostly the money has been raised through foundations and individual donations. This is our chance to help contribute to that fund!
Suggested donation: $10 Cash Donation.
