The first collaboration of musical giants Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be performed, this musical is considered one of the most successful and influential musicals in the world. It is estimated that, since its first performance in 1968, JATATD has been performed in nearly 20,000 schools or local theatres, by over 700,000 performers of all ages, and entertained more than 9 million people.
Based on “Joseph and his coat of many colors,” it is told almost entirely by song and dance. JATATD is a crazy song and dance party, sampling music of the 50’s, some steel drum Calypso, hip hop, ragtime, disco, French ballad, and there’s even a western hoedown.
