Fluor Field Recognized by Stadium Journey

Fluor Field has been recognized by StadiumJourney.com as the best stadium experience in the South Atlantic League. The home of the Greenville Drive was also named as the 11th best stadium experience in Minor League Baseball out of 160 stadiums.

Stadium Journey rates each stadium it visits in seven categories. It gave Fluor Field a five-star rating for atmosphere, fans and return on investment, and four-star ratings in food and beverage, neighborhood, access and extras.

“We’re thrilled to see Fluor Field recognized among the best stadiums both in the South Atlantic League and all of Minor League Baseball once again,” commented Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “Between the facility, atmosphere, quality of baseball and the impact the Drive have on the community, we believe our stadium experience at Fluor Field is second to none.”

Fluor Field was ranked extremely high by Stadium Journey in 2013 as well, as it was ranked the 53rd best stadium experience in the country for both college and professional sports, and it was the highest ranked stadium experience in the South Atlantic League.

In the previous nine seasons, Fluor Field has been praised highly by a wide variety of sources. The South Atlantic League has selected the playing surface as tops in the league four times, most recently in 2013. In addition, the SportsTurf Managers Association named Fluor Field its 2012 Professional Baseball Field of the Year. In its inaugural season in 2006, Fluor Field was named by Baseballparks.com as their Minor League Ballpark of the Year. The acclaim illustrates that Fluor Field has been an asset to professional baseball and to Greenville during its time as the home of the Drive.

“We’re proud of what Fluor Field has become in its nine seasons, a beautiful stadium that’s an important part of Downtown Greenville and the Upstate community,” said Drive Owner and President Craig Brown. “We believe Fluor Field is one of the true gems at all levels of baseball, and to see it recognized with the best of the best is a tremendous accomplishment.”

The Drive will play their tenth season in Downtown Greenville in 2015, and in that time, the franchise has welcomed over three million fans through the Fluor Field gates. The 2014 season brought over 346,000 fans to Fluor Field during the Drive’s 69 home dates for an average of 5,017 fans per game.
