City Asks for Public Input as Police Chief Search Begins

The City of Greenville needs your help to find the best, most qualified person to be our next Police Chief. Public input is essential to the success of the search process.

The City has begun a several-month process to conduct a national search for a new police chief, and is asking citizens to participate in a short survey about the issues the community faces and the qualities that the new police chief should possess.

The City will use the input received through the survey to recruit and select candidates for the police chief position.

To take the community survey please visit the City of Greenville’s webpage about the transition. Please submit your survey by April 30, 2014.

City Manager John Castile has announced that Major Mike Gambrell will assume command of the Greenville Police Department as Interim Police Chief, effective April 16.
