On Thursday, June 13, at 6pm, Hub City Bookshop will host Kate Daniels, who will be discussing and signing her new collection of poetry IN THE MONTHS OF MY SON’S RECOVERY.
The moving poems in this collection, which emanate from the current opioid epidemic, take us on a journey through illness, grief, and the disappointment of unexpected jolts in life. With bold descriptions of medical processes, intense love, and the sometimes overwhelming feeling of despair buffeted by hope, Kate Daniels offers thoughts on how to navigate a world we didn’t choose.
Kate Daniels is the author of three previous collections of poetry, including Four Testimonies. An associate professor of English at Vanderbilt University, she is the recipient of the Hanes Award for Poetry from the Fellowship of Southern Writers and lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
