Working Through Grief: Transitioning Back Into The Workplace After The Loss of A Loved One

Even if you’ve landed your dream job, returning to it after the loss of a loved one can be tough. Some of us find ourselves anxious to get back to our daily work routine after some time passes to give us the closest thing to a sense of normalcy possible. Some of us find ourselves anxious about how we will be viewed, treated, and assigned work, and whether or not the loss will alter our ability to deal with any of these things. Most of us feel some of all of these feelings at some point after a loss depending on the moment.

Even the best bosses, managers, and human resource
professionals struggle to provide a sensitive and comfortable work environment for employees to transition out of and back into when a loved one dies. Unless we have the ability to go without a paycheck – we have to find healthy ways to re-enter the workplace after a loss. The goal should be to generate income and remain mentally and emotionally healthy in the process. We should not have to choose.

Join us for an evening of discussion, expression, and remembrance – through a professionally led group session focused on the challenges navigating loss and work, and healthy ways to take the grieving process on while working with confidence.

We believe that our purpose involves going above and beyond simply conducting funeral services and memorials. We believe that life and death are so intertwined they are inseparable. Our duty to you, therefore, not only encompasses death, but also life after death and loss – continuing care.

Our work places us in a unique position to interact and build relationships with so many. We recognize that our clients, friends, and extended family may desire or need continuing care without even realizing it. As real people, we have real reactions and continuing needs. We work tirelessly to develop new ways to provide you superior service.

The 2018-19 JWWFH Continuing Care Series is a five-part series of FREE sessions. Each session will address a different aspect of grief, how it affects our mental wellness, and what steps to consider if/when it does.
We welcome you to take this journey alongside us.
