USC Upstate Announces Junior Scholars

The University of South Carolina Upstate recently announced a list of 608 high school juniors who have been named Junior Scholars in honor of their academic achievements. High school guidance counselors from around the state of South Carolina can nominate up to five students from their school to be selected as a Junior Scholar. Students must have a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) and have scored at least 1100 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Junior Scholars do receive early consideration for admission to USC Upstate if they choose to apply to the University.

USC Upstate is a thriving metropolitan university located along the thriving I-85 corridor in Spartanburg. USC Upstate offers more than 40 bachelor's degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business administration, nursing and teacher education, and master's degrees in education. The USC Upstate Spartans now compete on the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Spartans field 17 varsity sports — basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, cross country, and track and field for both women and men; baseball for men; and softball and volleyball for women. Among the fastest growing universities in South Carolina, USC Upstate is a diverse and dynamic community of 5,500 students from across the Upstate, 38 states, and 71 countries.
