The 3rd annual event returns to the Anderson County Courthouse Plaza on Main Street with some new sponsors, a great musical lineup and a newly-constructed parking garage for patrons in Downtown Anderson. After two years as title sponsor, Barrett-Marcie Properties has discontinued its relationship with the event. However, several businesses have stepped up to take a leadership role, making Downtown Sounds stronger and more inviting for patrons from throughout the upstate. Matty's Downtown, has come on board as title sponsor, along with other corporate newcomers Duke Energy and The Victoria Tea Room. Other loyal sponsors have been with the event since its inception: Anderson Independent Mail, Carolina Beer Company, Pepsi, Ben Arnold Beverage, MY102.5 (WMYI-FM), Anderson County and Penske Truck Rentals.
Main Street Events, Inc. (as the owner and operator of the event), has scheduled a solid list of entertainment starting with Blues Legend "Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues" on the Coors Light Stage on April 2nd. Mac and PFOB are huge local and regional favorites, who will be heading for a European tour for the month of May. The upstate's top party band "Whitney Walters and the Sound" bring the energy on April 30th. Anderson's own "Miss Wanda Johnson" will perform on June 18, fresh off her own performances in Paris and China. The entire series is filled with fantastic local and regional sounds including blues, oldies, beach, party bands, R&B and soul. The City of Anderson has just completed construction on the new West Whitner Street Parking Garage, a 250-space structure located at the intersection of W. Whitner and Murry Avenue. FREE parking is offered after 5:00pm each day and weekends. Each week, a local volunteer group will handle on-site duties for the evening and will earn revenue for their organization based on tips received. APRIL:
