As part of the 16th annual South Carolina Rural Summit, the Department of Commerce recently announced its request for entries for an amateur photography contest featuring the unique perspectives of rural South Carolina.
Photographs from last year�s Rural Summit photography contest were featured in a calendar developed by the Community and Rural Development Division to market this year�s conference. Photographs must be the original work of the applicant and feature rural South Carolina subject matter. Photos may be color or black-and-white, and should be submitted as an 8�x10� image with name of photo, name of photographer, and completed registration and release forms, which are located on the Commerce website (http://www.sccommerce.com/scrs2006/PhotoContest.html.) The deadline for entry is Wednesday, February 1, 2006. The First Prize winner will receive $500; Second Prize will receive $250, and Third Prize will be awarded $100.
