 The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Futures Group at the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce today announced that Platronics Seals will move its production facility from Clifton, New Jersey to Spartanburg, South Carolina. The $2 million investment is expected to create 20 new jobs for the area.
�The relocation of our production facility from New Jersey to Spartanburg County, S.C., marks a new phase in our company�s growth,� said Sam Baar, President of Platronics Seals. �We chose the Spartanburg area because of the strength of its workforce and the quality of life there.� Platronics Seals manufactures high-quality, low-cost hermetic packages for semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, and telecommunications applications. The company�s plating line includes electrolytic and electroless nickel, gold, copper, tin, and tin-lead capabilities. �Platronics Seals has a 40-year history of manufacturing quality products to satisfy its customers demands. We are pleased they have chosen to locate in Spartanburg. The company�s decision to move operations to South Carolina is evidence that our state�s business-friendly climate and skilled workforce are attracting new investments and jobs to South Carolina.
