The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Alliance Pickens announced that TTI North America (formerly known as Ryobi & OWT) will expand operations at its Pickens, S.C. facility by mid December 2007. As a result of becoming the primary supplier of pressure washers for The Home Depot chain, Anderson, S.C.-based TTI North America Inc. will manufacture its new pressure washer products at the Pickens, S.C. facility and create more than 140 new jobs.
According to Doug Newton, Sr. VP of Human Resources of TTI North America, the expansion will result in several new TTI support positions at both the Pickens facility, supporting the manufacturing operation, and the Anderson headquarters, supporting sales, marketing, and support positions. Lee Sowell, President of the Outdoor Products Division of TTI North America, indicated the decision by The Home Depot to award TTI the pressure washer business is very indicative of the strong partnership that exists between TTI and its largest customer. In addition, this growth is in line with the overall direction of TTI as it relates to the diversification of product lines within the outdoor products area and major divisions. TTI North America has added several major brands to its portfolio since the purchase of the former S.C. based Ryobi Motor Products Inc. in August of 2000. The additional brands include Vax�, Hoover�, Dirt Devil�, Expand-it�, Homelite�, RIDGID�, Milwaukee Electric Tools�, and Stiletto Tools�. �As we work to compete in a global economy, our ability to attract and grow foreign investment is important and certainly speaks to the success of our efforts to improve the state�s economic soil conditions to promote business growth.
