The Palmetto Conservation Foundation Offers a Full Moon Paddle at Stump Hole Swamp on August 13

Join the Palmetto Conservation Foundation on a moonlight paddle into Stumphole Swamp along Lake Marion. Let the moon be your guide as you paddle along listening to the creatures of the night. Don't worry though, the moon won't be your only guide, Ed Deal will also be leading the group through the swamp. Bring a water bottle, flash light, snack, and bug spray. The first ten minutes of the trip are across open water, and can be a strain for canoers if there is a heavy wind, but it is quickly passed. Once into the swampland, there is little current or wave action.

Meet at Stumphole Landing at 8pm. This paddle will last about 2 hours and is suitable for beginners.

Call to sign up (803)771-0870.

Founded in 1989, PCF is a statewide, non-profit organization with offices in Columbia and Glendale (Spartanburg County). They assist South Carolina's communities to grow and prosper while maintaining local character and quality of life. This involves protecting natural areas through land trust assistance or through local government programs, preserving Revolutionary War battlefields, and developing greenways and the Palmetto Trail.

The mission of the Palmetto Conservation Foundation is to conserve South Carolina's natural and cultural resources, preserve historic landmarks, and promote outdoor recreation through trails and greenways.
