Master Power Transmission Headquarters to be Located in Downtown Greenville

The City of Greenville, the Greenville Chamber and the Greenville Area Development Corporation have announced that Master Power Transmission will locate its North American headquarters in the former Piedmont Natural Gas building at 201 West McBee Avenue.

According to Ben Haskew, President/CEO of the Greenville Chamber, the project has been an example of the Greenville Chamber, the City of Greenville and GADC partnering in a way that brings new tenants to fill downtown office space. "It is also an example of the continued importance of manufacturing to our region," said Haskew. "This spin-off, created from within our existing manufacturing community, creates a new growth trajectory that will be positive for the Upstate for years to come."

Master Power Transmission was formed in 2010 by President/CEO Michael A. Cinquemani, a former executive with Baldor Electric Company. The company announced in April that it had acquired Baldors DODGE manufacturing facility in Columbus, Indiana to produce mechanical power transmission products. The Greenville headquarters will be the companys base for operations as well as sales, marketing and engineering functions. "Master Power Transmission is pleased to be calling Greenville home," said Cinquemani. "Being in the center of a vibrant, business-friendly community is important to our company, and by working with local economic developers, we were able to quickly identify a suitable space for the new venture, as well as obtain permits in a timely manner."

According to Mayor Knox White, headquarter firms such as Master Power Transmission can find a number of essential amenities in a downtown location. "This is a great fit for us and there is no question that a downtown location sends a strong signal about a companys culture," said White. "The City is proud to welcome Master Power Transmission as its newest resident company and we look forward to being a part of their future growth and success."

Master Power Transmissions product solutions help customers achieve a competitive advantage in varying applications within a broad variety of industries. Drawing from over 90 years of experience, the companys strong market knowledge, talented staff, established customer relationships and rapid response service capability provide measurable value to its customer base. Master PT will continue to produce high-quality, reliable mechanical power transmission products including REEVES Motodrive, REEVES Ultima, Master XL, APG and other gearing and power transmission products. With a strong reputation, established product business and sales channel, the company is well positioned for future growth.

Economic development representatives from the City of Greenville, Greenville Chamber and Greenville Area Development Corporation are collaborating on an office initiative for downtown Greenville. The programs purpose is threefold: 1) to retain existing downtown office tenants; 2) to recruit new companies to the market and 3) to grow new companies and start-ups already located in Greenville. Through this program, the three organizations are able to leverage unique resources and talents to grow the economic base in Greenville.
