Local Greenville Businessmen Launch E-Scribe, LLC

Three local businessmen, Jeff Wilson, Jim Grayson and Mike Smith announce their partnership of E-Scribe, a healthcare information management company located in Greenville, S.C. E-Scribe serves as both a consultant and a sales resource to its clients seeking electronic health record (EHR) solutions, off-site record and data storage management, and IT support/network monitoring that fits each clients individual practice needs.

With economic stimulus programs and incentives developed in 2009 that focus on computerizing Americas medical records (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health HITECH Act), the partners of E-Scribe predict the need for their products and services will allow E-Scribe to expand to 10 employees in the Upstate by 2011.

Serving as the exclusive business alliance partner in South Carolina and North Carolina for Greenway Medical Technologies, E-Scribe offers the award-winning EHR/PM software PrimeSuite, a fully integrated electronic health record, practice management, and interoperability solution that centralizes the clinical, financial and administrative functions of a medical practice in a single database. It allows medical practices to improve patient care, increase efficiency and maximize profitability. PrimeSuite boasts an annual post-implementation return of between $21,600 and $81,500 per physician.

Jeff Wilson serves as president and founder of E-Scribe where he is responsible for market analysis, strategic partnerships, and long-range planning. Prior to forming E-Scribe, Wilson served 10 years in sales, sales training, and sales management at international pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough. He received a bachelors degree in marketing from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. in 1991. He is active at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, and in a number of professional and social organizations throughout North and South Carolina. Wilson resides in Greenville, S.C.

According to Wilson, My ten years in the pharmaceutical industry helped me better understand the challenges faced by healthcare providers and their staff in todays healthcare information management market. The two most common challenges I discovered providers were faced with in regards to electronic health care records were (1) identifying an industry leading vendor and (2) their misperception of the cost versus the return on investment. All of this market research led to the formation of E-Scribe and our alignment with Greenway Medical Technologies as a Business Alliance Partner, added Wilson.

Jim Grayson, a healthcare industry veteran with over 30 years of sales and marketing experience acts as vice president of sales for E-Scribe. His responsibilities include the formulation of marketing strategies and business development initiatives to expand E-Scribes Southeast footprint. Prior to joining e-scribe, Grayson was employed in various senior management roles at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Jim graduated from Wofford College and is currently involved in several organizations in the Greenville community. He resides in Simpsonville, S.C.

Mike Smith brings over 35 years of business development and management experience as an investor with E-Scribe; recently selling his familys company, Orders Distributing Company, where he worked for 30 years. Currently, Smith serves as president for Smith Development Company, Inc; managing light commercial buildings. He graduated from Wofford College in 1975. Smith is on the Board of Trustees of Wofford College, is active at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, as well as several business and social organizations in Greenville where he resides.

Rounding out E-Scribes expertise is our advisory board comprised of physicians from different medical specialties, said Grayson. By having our advisory board involved in the review of the solutions we offer, the end result is a product offering that meets each client practices needs. This collaboration of sales and peer review is a unique combination for our customers, added Grayson.
