Diamond Hill Plywood Company announced that it will expand its distribution facility by occupying the Carolina Metroplex facility off White Horse Road in Greenville. Currently located in an existing building on Arcadia Drive in Greenville, the company will purchase the 80,000 square foot Carolina Metroplex facility. They will invest over $5,500,000 and employ 12 new associates within five years.Diamond Hill Plywood�s new distribution facility will enhance the company�s full portfolio of wholesale building material supply in the southeast region of the United States. The new Diamond Hill Plywood facility�s expanded warehouse capacity will bring it in line with Diamond Hill Plywood�s other warehouse facilities in the southeast. Expanding for additional capacity the project was competitive with existing operations in Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. Diamond Hill Plywood Company is a major U.S. wholesale building supply distributor, with a network of ten distribution centers. The company has been in operation since 1945 and employs a total of 197 associates. Diamond Hill Plywood Company is headquartered in Darlington, SC and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Darlington Veneer Company. Darlington Veneer has been manufacturing hardwood/plywood since 1918. In 2004 Diamond Hill Plywood was ranked as the 14th largest (based on sales revenue) privately held business in South Carolina by Grant Thorton Accountants. The Chairman and CEO of Diamond Hill Plywood is John Ramsey, and the President is Jim Ramsey. �Diamond Hill Plywood Company has been in business since 1945 and this new facility demonstrates our renewed commitment to this area.
