Clemson's Dr. Bruce Yandle To Address Globalization At Chamber Small Business Event July 14


Dr. Bruce Yandle, interim dean of Clemson University�s College of Business and Behavioral Science, will present Is This Globalization or What? at the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce Small Business Event on Thursday, July 14, 2005.

Presented by First Citizens, the event will be held at the History Museum of Upcountry South Carolina, 540 Buncombe Street in downtown Greenville. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. Networking and cocktails will follow from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m.

The registration fee is $35 for Greenville Chamber members and $45 for non-Chamber members. Registration is required by July 7, 2005. To register, visit the events page at www.greenvillechamber.org, or contact Sharon Self at 864-239-3728 for more information.

Dr. Bruce Yandle is interim dean of Clemson University�s College of Business and Behavioral Science. He joined the Clemson faculty in 1969 and taught economics for 32 years. He has served on the faculties of George Mason University�s Capitol Hill Campus and the University of Montpellier School of Law, and he has taught in MBA programs in Germany and Italy. Dr. Yandle served in Washington on two occasions, first as senior economist on the White House staff during the Ford and Carter Administrations, and later as executive director of the Federal Trade Commission during the Reagan Administration. Author/editor of 14 books on regulation and natural resource economics, Dr. Yandle was a member and chairman of South Carolina�s State Board of Economic Advisors. He is past chairman of the board of trustees of Spartanburg Methodist College and is currently president of the Association of Private Enterprise Education. Prior to pursuing an academic career, Dr. Yandle was in the industrial machinery business for 15 years. He writes a quarterly newsletter on the economy that is posted on Clemson University�s Strom Thurmond Institute Web site.
