Greenville auto dealer and auto race driver/owner John Finger has donated two used Ford Mustang race cars to the Motorsports Technology program at Greenville Technical College. The cars are valued at $29,000. One will be used to instruct students in automotive suspension systems used in racing. The other will be rebuilt to full racing capability. Plans are to sell the rebuilt vehicle to a racing team in order to raise funds for the Motorsports Technology program.
Greenville Techs Motorsports Technology program teaches everything related to high-performance automobiles from introductory courses to advanced courses in welding, motorsports operations, frame and chassis fabrication, paint and body techniques, high performance engines, chassis setup, Dyno testing, tires, shocks, and motorsports marketing. Hands-on learning is emphasized and provided in the shop areas and through experiences such as weekend field trips to racetracks around the Carolinas. (Images provided by Greenville Tech.)
