Kelly Clarkson, the original "American Idol," will include a stop at Clemson University's Littlejohn Coliseum May 3 on her first solo headline tour.Tickets are on sale at the Littlejohn Coliseum box office, TicketMaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Floor and riser seats are $35, and bowl seats are $25; all tickets are discounted $5 for Clemson students, faculty and staff. A $3 bond fee will be added to all tickets, and tickets are $5 higher if purchased the day of the show. Clarkson has toured as part of the "American Idol" tour during the last two years, but this tour marks her "breakaway" into being on her own. Littlejohn is the only arena date on the 34-city tour, titled "The Breakaway Tour." "It is significant that Littlejohn was selected because we have a chance to have the biggest date on the tour, and we are pumped about that," said Marty Kern, director of major events for Clemson University. "There is a lot of enthusiasm surrounding this tour, and we want Kelly's fans to have an incredible experience." The tour follows the success of Clarkson's second CD, titled "Breakaway." The title single went to No. 1 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart and is currently No. 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart and No. 3 on the Adult Top 40 chart. "Since U Been Gone," the second release from "Breakaway," is No. 3 on the Mainstream Top 40 list. Clarkson rose to fame by winning the first season of the hit reality television show "American Idol." Her first CD, "Thankful," which featured the chart-topping hit "Miss Independent," was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. (Images provided by American Idol.)
