Greenville City Council Approves $13.4 Million for New West End Parking Deck

City of Greenville

Greenville City Council recently approved allocation of $13.4 million for a new parking deck in the rapidly growing West End.

Located along Howe Street with 400 public parking spaces, the project is a partnership with the Atlanta-based development firm RocaPoint Partners.

RocaPoint is the master developer of the $1.1 billion Greenville County Square project, which covers 37 acres along University Ridge and directly borders the Howe Street deck. The parking deck will also be within walking distance of Fluor Field, shops and restaurants on Augusta Street and Main Street and the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.

The project received the support of West End restaurant and business owners, including Greenville Drive fans who have found parking in the area challenging. Last year, to alleviate parking demand, the City worked with the Drive to secure off-site parking and free trolley service on game days.

Construction is expected to begin later this year and be finished in 2026. Once complete, the city will manage the parking deck.
