The Center for Developmental Services, or CDS for short, is a nonprofit that serves children with disabilities and special needs from birth until they transition to adulthood. The company is located in downtown Greenville on Academy St.
Most people who drive by think they’re a day care, and that’s partly true. They do have a medically-fragile daycare inside their building, the only one in SC, but they’re also much more than that.
They are a collaboration of several nonprofit entities who all work together at CDS so that children with delays and their families can access most of the services they need in one place. Last year, CDS served over 9,300 children and individuals. And that’s not counting all the siblings and parents who came with them!
In a statement, the Center for Developmental Services says, “This summer we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary, so it’s especially meaningful right now to be named the Greenville Chamber’s Small Business of the Month. Thank you to the Chamber for this honor and for all their resources they provide to small businesses in our community. We’re incredibly grateful.”
