Furman Basketball Returns to Downtown Greenville on Feb. 22

Furman called downtown Greenville home for more than one hundred years. In the early 1960s, Furman relocated to the campus they currently occupy today on Poinsett Highway.

Fifty years later, Furman Basketball is set to return to where it all began.

The Furman Basketball program is finally returning home with three “Weekends at the Well.” In the heart of Greenville, Bon Secours Wellness Arena will be hosting a few of the Paladin’s Men and Women teams’ games in their 2019-2020 season.

This partnership will shine the light on Furman’s athletics, showcasing their talents on a broader scale and further strengthening its program. With Greenville housing Furman’s largest base of alumni, the initiative is hoping to paint the city purple in support for the Paladins.

The move mirrors other strategic initiatives to reinforce the connection between the university and Greenville.

In September, Dr. Elizabeth Davis stated, “We’re a little place doing mighty things. And so much of this is powered by the deep connections in and with our community. This is where we live and work, and this is where the university has pursued its dreams for nearly 200 years. We’ll continue to nurture this partnership as we celebrate our role as Greenville’s hometown university.”

Season tickets are on sale now with group ticket rates as low as $14 per ticket.

In their inaugural “Weekends at the Well” game, the Paladins defeated Winthrop 80-73. The remaining games are scheduled for:

Feb. 22 vs. Wofford, 12:00 p.m.
