India Day is This Saturday in Downtown Greenville

The India Association of Greenville is excited to announce India Day, taking place in the picturesque downtown of Greenville on Saturday, August 24. This event coincides with India’s Independence Day celebrations.

India Day will take place rain or shine in downtown Greenville along the S Main and Broad streets. The festival begins at 9:00 am and will continue until 10:00 pm.

The festival will showcase the unique traditions, culture, and cuisines of modern day India, with a keen eye on its glorious heritage. Visitors will get an opportunity to experience a glimpse of India, right here in the Upstate. The objective of this event is to entertain and educate via interactive exhibits, artistic expression and performances, highlighting the diverse cultures of India.

Specifically, the festival will feature a grand colorful parade with floats, with Grand Marshal Mr. Vivek Oberoi, Mascot Mr. Actorr Patel, and entertainment throughout the day emphasizing the rich and varied heritage, including a fashion show and concluding with a Bollywood dance party to the tunes of a Live DJ. There will also be multiple activities lined up, including the International Food Court, Indian sports demonstration, Ethnic Indian Bazaar, Local Talent show, Indian Fashion Show, Parade, Bollywood Dance Party, Colorful Fireworks, and more!
