Swamp Rabbit Trail Closure

A section of the trail will be closed through Dec. 10, from Cancer Survivors Park to the Anderson Memorial, due to work associated with the Cleveland Park river bank stabilization project.

The project scope includes replacing invasive plants with native vegetation, planting hundreds of trees and shrubs and constructing stream enhancement measures. The exposed sanitary sewer pipes within the park will also be covered as part of the project. The project limits are from Cleveland Street to Woodland Way bridge along the Reedy River, as well as a small portion of Richland Creek near the Greenville Zoo.

The work is being done in stages and the first stage of the project focused on the area around the Major Rudolf Anderson, Jr. Memorial. Stage two focuses on the area upstream of the memorial to Cleveland Street. During this stage of work, the section of the Swamp Rabbit Trail between the memorial and the Cancer Survivors Park will be closed through December 10.

Signage is posted on either end of the closure to alert trail users in advance.
