Installation Continues for New Neighborhood Playgrounds

One of the larger Neighborhood Parks Program projects involves the installation of new playground equipment in eleven neighborhood parks. The new equipment is designed for children ages five through twelve and is ADA-accessible.

Once the new equipment is in place, new safety surfacing will be added to the play areas. The size and design of each playground will vary from park to park, but each will include a variety of climbing, balancing, sliding and spinning elements. The playgrounds at Gower Park and the Juanita Butler Community Center will also include zip lines.
