Upstate International Celebrates Crêpe Day

From the Latin Festa candelabrum, Upstate International is partnering with Alliance Française to celebrate crêpe day.

Crêpes are flipping all over France… This French tradition is called “Chandeleur” or the Feast of Crêpes” also “Feast of Light.” As the days are getting longer, we celebrate the return of sunny days (crêpes symbolize the sun) heading to spring. It marks the end of the Christmas period coming exactly forty days after Christmas.

Yes, you read that right, it’s a holiday devoted to crêpes.

Enjoy savory delights like spinach & cheese, mushroom, or chicken; or, sweet delights with “à garnir à volonté” to garnish with jam or jellies, Nutella, or maple syrup. No matter the choice, the evening will conclude with the famous “Crêpes Suzette Sauce à l’Orange.”

The celebration begins at 6:30 pm at Upstate International, 9 South Memminger Street. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
