Furman Theatre Presents Twisted Tales From Shakespeare

Furman University Theatre will present Twisted Tales from Shakespeare Feb. 14-17 and Feb. 22-24 at 8 p.m., with matinee performances Feb. 18th and Feb. 25th at 3:00 pm.

All performances take place in The Playhouse on the Furman campus. The play is open to the public. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students.

Based on the same-titled 1957 book by Richard Armour, Twisted Tales From Shakespeare is adapted for the stage and directed by Furman theatre professor Rhett Bryson.

Bryson’s stage adaptation of Armour’s book explores the early days of Shakespeare’s history, the true authorship of Shakespeare’s plays, and the Globe Playhouse. The performance interprets two of Shakespeare’s most famous plays: Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Suitable for the whole family, this comic look at Shakespeare includes these cast members:

Eliza Kate Leiter, Narrator
Dayanari Umana, Footnoter
Derek Leonard, Actor 1
Drake Shadwell, Actor 2
Elli Caterisano, Actress 1
Clare Beth McConnell, Actress 2
