Information

The past 18 months have been a time of unprecedented need in communities throughout the Southeast. What has been the impact on our region’s nonprofits? How have foundations and individual donors responded? What ongoing trends will impact the future of philanthropy in our region?

We will discuss these questions and more on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, during “The State of Philanthropic Giving in the Southeast,” an interactive, in-person event presented in partnership with the Spartanburg County Foundation and the Philanthropy Southeast (formerly the Southeast Council of Foundations).

Stephen Sherman, Philanthropy Southeast’s director of research and data, will join us to review the past, present, and future of philanthropy in the region while also highlighting data and trends specific to South Carolina and Spartanburg County. We will also explore emerging forms of philanthropy poised to make a big impact, including donor-advised funds, giving circles, and online giving. This event will also include opportunities for questions and group discussion.

Registration for this event is now open. Limited spaces are available. Following the event, participants may stay for the networking lunch, provided by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, and take tours of The Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy.
