Celebrating our 60th Season will be one of the best known and most performed works by Johannes Brahms – “A German Requiem” (sung in English), and two prior works commissioned by the Chorale from Dan Forrest. The Brahms was the first major work the Chorale performed in its 1961 inaugural season and has been a regular part of the Chorale repertoire through the years. The text from the Bible expresses comfort and assurance in time of deepest need. Affirming the Chorale’s 60 years of great music, “Gloria In Excelsis” and “St. Patrick’s Hymn” by Dan Forrest expresses joy and appreciation, and profound hope for each of us.
