The Greenville Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the South Carolina Children’s Theatre, announces its upcoming “Timbre Tales” concert program on Tuesday, April 1st at 4:30 p.m. at the South Carolina Children’s Theatre (153 Augusta Street in downtown Greenville). The program will feature excerpts from the poetry of Shel Silverstein with music provided by GSO percussionist Sherwood Mobley. Timbre Tales, a popular, free education program for Upstate children and families, target pre-school through early elementary aged children and feature music by GSO musicians, with costumed performances by Traysie Amick, SCCT Principal Teaching Artist. Audience participation and interaction with performers are a trademark of the Timbre Tales presentations. The performances, held at the SCCT at 153 Augusta Road, last approximately thirty minutes. Reservations are not necessary but early arrival is encouraged. Timbre Tales is sponsored by Denny’s.
