“Pinch Hit for Pendleton Place” on November 6th

Have you ever wanted to step into the batter’s box at Fluor Field and take on the Green Monster?

On Thursday, November 6th, the Greenville Drive, along with members of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenville Class 41, are giving you that opportunity to “Pinch Hit for Pendleton Place.”

Additionally, the Southern Tide 500 Club will be open in conjunction with the Batting Practice for a Happy Hour event – with drink specials – which includes the Clemson at Wake Forest football game featured on the 6 television screens!

For just $25, participants will get 10 swings at Fluor Field. The Drive’s own, right-handed pitcher Jason Garcia, will serve as one of the celebrity pitchers during the event – with additional celebrity pitchers to be added.

Teaming up with the Greenville Drive to offer this fun, new event to support Pendleton Place is a winning combination for all involved.” To pre-register for the “Pinch Hit for Pendleton Place”, fans can visit GreenvilleDrive.com. Those wishing to participate may also register at Fluor Field on the day of the event.

The event at Fluor Field will begin at 6 PM, and those wishing to attend can enter the ballpark through the Main Street Gates. Admittance to Fluor Field is complimentary.

All proceeds from the “Pinch Hit for Pendleton Place” event and Happy Hour will benefit Leadership Greenville Class 41’s project at Pendleton Place. Pendleton Place’s mission is to keep children safe and support families in crisis through prevention, assessment, and intervention.

Pendleton Place’s residential program offers a safe, loving home to youth who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Smith House provides a safe and comforting home for girls ages 11-21. In addition to basic needs like food and clothing, their residents are provided with counseling services, structured educational support, life skills training, financial literacy classes, civic engagement and other hands-on opportunities aimed at preparing youth for successful, independent living after foster care.

“‘Pinch Hit for Pendleton Place’ is a great opportunity for Drive fans to step onto Fluor Field and take their crack at the Green Monster while also contributing to a great cause,” added Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “We’re always excited to provide our fans with fun events that bring them even closer to us as an organization, and we couldn’t be happier to team up with Leadership Greenville, and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce as they assist Pendleton Place in supporting Upstate families and children.”
