Representatives from regional colleges such as Clemson, USC, Furman, and Greenville Tech will be at all Greenville County high schools on their designated application day during the month of October.
School guidance counselors and college representatives will gather with students in the media center to fill out online applications. Every child will leave the session with at least one completed college application.
This is the fourth year Greenville County Schools has targeted first generation college students and students who may not otherwise apply to college.
Many colleges and universities will waive their application fee on college application day. The fee is often a barrier for first generation college students.
College Application Days come just weeks after the Greenville County College Fair, where all high school juniors and seniors were bused to the TD Convention Center to pick up brochures and talk with college representatives.
