From Erika Marks, the author of It Comes in Waves and The Guest House, comes The Last Treasure, a novel of three lives entangled in the secrets of the sea and the enduring bonds of love. As students with a shared passion for shipwrecks, Liv, Sam, and Whit formed a close bond searching for the mysterious Patriot, a schooner that disappeared off the Carolina coast in 1812 with Aaron Burr’s daughter Theodosia aboard. But as the elusive ship drew them together, love would bring them even closer — and ultimately tear them apart.

Erika has worked as an illustrator, an art director, a cake decorator, and a carpenter. She currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband, a native New Orleanian, and their two daughters. This is her fifth novel .

In Marybeth Whalen’s new novel, The Things We Wish Were True, a near tragedy triggers a series of dark revelations in an idyllic small-town neighborhood. From the outside, Sycamore Glen, North Carolina, might look like the perfect all-American neighborhood. But behind the white picket fences lies a web of secrets that reach from house to house.

Marybeth is the author of five previous novels and speaks to women’s groups around the United States. She is the cofounder of the popular women’s fiction site She Reads and is active in a local writers’ group. She and her husband, Curt, have been married for twenty-four years and are the parents of six children, ranging from young adult to elementary age. The family lives in North Carolina. Marybeth spends most of her time in the grocery store but occasionally escapes long enough to scribble some words. She is always at work on her next novel.

Lauded for her “astute and engrossing” (People) writing style imbued with “originality galore” (RT Book Revies), Kim Wright channels the best of Jennifer Weiner and Sarah Pekkanen in The Last Ride to Graceland, a delightful novel of self-discovery on the open road as one woman sets out for Graceland hoping to answer the question: Is Elvis Presley her father?

Kim is the author of three previous novels. A two-time winner of the Lowell Thomas Award for travel writing, she has been writing about travel, food, and wine for more than twenty years for magazines such as Wine Spectator, Self, Travel & Leisure, and Vogue. She also ballroom dances competitively. Kim lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Joy Callaway’s debut novel, The Fifth Avenue Artists Society, takes place in the Bronx in 1891. Virginia Loftin, the boldest of four artistic sisters in a family living in genteel poverty, knows what she wants most: to become a celebrated novelist despite her gender, and to marry Charlie, the boy next door and her first love. When Charlie proposes to someone else, Ginny turns their story into fiction and attends a salon hosted in writer John Hopper’s Fifth Avenue mansion. But the salon’s bright lights may be obscuring some dark shadows.

Joy lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her family. The Fifth Avenue Artists Society is her first novel.
