MAIREC Establishing Recycling Operations in Upstate

MAIREC, a Germany-based metals recycler, is establishing operations in Spartanburg County. The $4.6 million investment is expected to create 35 new jobs in Spartanburg, S.C. over the next five years.

Headquartered in Alzenau, Germany, MAIREC specializes in the recovery of high-valued rare metals from recycled goods which contain them. This is a first overseas operation for MAIREC, which already boasts a diverse customer base across a number of industries, including automotive, chemical, electronics, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, porcelain, solar, surface technology and telecommunications.
To house its new South Carolina operations, MAIREC is leasing a 50,800-square-foot building at 230 Converse Road in Spartanburg. Situated less than four miles from Interstate 85, the facility will allow the company to meet increasing demand in both the North American and global markets and service its well-established client base in North America.

Expected to be fully operational by September 2015, hiring for the 35 positions is anticipated to begin in August 2015. At that time, those interested in joining the MAIREC team should contact Phillips Staffing in Greenville, S.C. More information about the company can be found at www.mairec.com.
