Greenville Drive Presents Battle at the Star

The Greenville Drive, working in partnership with Upward Sports and North Greenville University, are proud to present the “Battle at the Star” at the Upward Sports Star Center on Saturday, January 3rd.

The five-time NCAA National Champion Men’s Volleyball program from Pepperdine University, led by Hall of Fame Head Coach Marv Dunphy – a close friend of Drive owner Craig Brown – will square off against North Greenville’s inaugural men’s volleyball team.

The Upward Sports Star Center complex, located in Spartanburg, is a 60-acre state-of-the-art athletic facility, with this event being its first ever NCAA competition, since opening in the fall.

Doors will open at 6 pm with the match beginning at 7 pm. Following the match, fans will have the opportunity to speak with players and get autographs. Tickets to this marquee event can be purchased by visiting or calling the Upward Star Center at (864) 949-5900. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Be sure to order your tickets before January 3rd, as prices increase by $2 at the door that evening.

The Battle at the Star festivities continue on Sunday, January 4th, as Coach Dunphy will lead a free players and coaches clinic at the Upward Star Center. From 11 am to 2 pm, players and coaches of all ages will have the opportunity to learn proper volleyball techniques, top drills, and receive instruction from a Gold Medal winning Head Coach.
