Essig Tool and Die, LLC announced that it has selected Greenville, South Carolina, for its newest facility. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Essig Tool and Die was initially formed eight years ago as an engineering service company (Essig Research) to the aerospace industry. Since that time, it has grown and expanded to three locations: Cincinnati, Ohio; Zihuatanejo, Mexico; and now in Greenville, SC. Essig provides a wide range of support to their aerospace clients, including design and analysis to a finished tool. Their highly skilled toolmakers produce a wide range of jigs, fixtures, assembly tools, master gages and precision machines. Operating from their new location in the Donaldson Center, Essig will employ 50 people and will invest approximately $650,000.
As with all new industrial projects, Essig was a competitive search in many different states and communities. Greenville was the final choice of Essig due to its favorable business climate, its location, and the support and work done by the GADC, Donaldson Center, and other economic development allies. “We are extremely happy to welcome Essig Tool and Die, LLC to Greenville County’s incredible industrial group,” says Bill Workman, Chairman of GADC. “Essig’s selection of Greenville re-emphasizes the fact that Greenville continues to be a major player in economic development. They will provide much needed and excellent employment opportunities.” The Greenville Area Development Corporation is a non-profit organization established by Greenville County Council to promote and enhance the economic growth and development of Greenville County.
