Earth Day Run on April 26th

Spring is right around the corner. It’s time to shed the jacket and gloves and bring out the singlet and sunscreen.

In Greer, spring is the time for the City’s biggest running event of the year, the EARTH DAY RUN. We invite you to lace up your brightest pair of neon running shoes and join us at Greer City Park on April 26!

This running event got started over thirty years ago. In 2005, the Greater Greer Road Race was renamed the Greer Earth Day Run. In 2009, the event moved to its present home in Greer City Park. Thanks to terrific support from the City of Greer and the efforts of the Greenville Track Club, the Greer Earth Day Run is one of the most popular springtime events in the Upstate.

After several years of course modifications, the EARTH DAY RUN is returning to the classic “single loop” half marathon course. This course follows a mostly rural route and involves fewer railroad crossings which have caused problems in previous years. While the HM course is revisiting the past, the 5K will be following a brand new single loop route through the heart of downtown. The 10K is taking a holiday in 2014 and will make a return in the future.
