Drive Playoff Tickets Now on Sale

With five games remaining in the 2015 regular season, the Greenville Drive are officially in the race to reach the South Atlantic League playoffs, sitting just a half-game back in the Southern Division Wild Card race.

Drive fans who have caught postseason fever are in luck, as playoff tickets for the 2015 postseason at Fluor Field are now on sale.

Ticket prices range from $7 to $9 and can be purchased by going to the Main Street Box Office, calling the Box Office at (864) 240-4528 or logging on to GreenvilleDrive.com.

“We are thrilled at the prospect of postseason baseball returning to Downtown Greenville, and we’re passing our excitement on to the fans by putting playoff tickets on sale today,” said Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “According to Peter Gammons and confirmed by our fans, the Drive have the most exciting team in Minor League Baseball, and it will be a great thrill for our fans to watch the Drive and its young prospects compete in the postseason when winning matters the most”.

Should the Drive reach the South Atlantic League playoffs, the first postseason game at Fluor Field would be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 7:05 PM against the Savannah Sand Gnats, the winner of the first half Southern Division title. Game two and, if necessary, game three, of the Southern Division Championship series would be held in Savannah.

If the Drive were to reach the South Atlantic League Championship Series, Fluor Field would host games three, four and five of the series against the Northern Division champion. Game three would be on Wednesday, September 17th at 7:05 PM, with games 4 and 5, if necessary, on Thursday, September 18th and Friday, September 19th. The Drive have the potential to win their first South Atlantic League Championship at Fluor Field.

To reach the postseason, the Drive will need to boast the second best overall record for the 2015 season since Savannah has won both the first half and second half Southern Division titles. Entering Wednesday, the Drive trail the Asheville Tourists by a half-game in overall record.

“Reaching the postseason in this, our 10th Anniversary season at Fluor Field, would be a great extension to what has been a special year for the Drive,” said Craig Brown, Drive Owner and Team President. “We encourage our fans to continue their tremendous support of the Drive as we aim to finish the season strong and make a run in the South Atlantic League playoffs.”

The roster in Greenville has been a source of top talent in professional baseball all season long, and the team currently features six players among MLBPipeline’s top 20 Red Sox prospects, including 2B Yoan Moncada (#1), 3B Rafael Devers (#2), OF Andrew Benintendi (#6), SS Javier Guerra (#7), 3B Michael Chavis (#11) and 1B/OF Nick Longhi (#20).

The Drive are looking for their first trip to the postseason since 2010, when the team reached the South Atlantic League Championship Series before falling to the Lakewood BlueClaws. The Drive also reached the championship series in 2009.

If the Drive do not reach the postseason, fans who have purchased playoff tickets for 2015 can have the option to receive a refund for the tickets, or they can apply the payment as credit towards single-game tickets for the 2016 season.
