Downtown Alive, Greenville's traditional weekly music series, has concluded its 2011 season, which provided great entertainment to area residents through out the year, and helped to raise funds for the Metropolitan Arts Council. The traditional, weekly music series, established as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council, has become a popular Thursday night staple in downtown Greenville. While area residents must now wait until the spring of 2012 to once again enjoy this great mucical venue, for a hint of what to expect in 2012, you can fine the 2011 entertainment schedule at this link. A total of approximately 45,000 people attend this event annually and it is the single largest fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council. Downtown Alive is scheduled every Thursday night from 5:30 - 8:30PM (9PM July-August). The weekly event is held at the Hyatt Regency Greenville Plaza Deck in downtown Greenville. Admission is free.

Bring a picture ID if you intend to purchase alcohol. In order to purchase or consume alcohol within the permit area, you must be 21-years of age (or older), present a valid picture ID, and purchase a City of Greenville approved wristband for $1.00; times for sales and consumption of alcohol will be posted at the ticket purchase locations. Downtown Alive does not provide seating at the event so feel free to bring a chair, dancing shoes just in case, a smile and a song in your heart!
