Downtown Alive is back for its annual roll through the great spring and summer weather in the Upstate. The traditional, weekly music series, established as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC), has become a popular Thursday night staple in downtown Greenville. Featuring live weekly entertainment, Downtown Alive integrates and promotes MAC and the organizations it supports to the general public. This event is one of the highlights of living in Greenville; it gives people a great opportunity to network while enjoying our beautiful downtown.
Main Street Events, Inc. will once again manage the event for the Metropolitan Arts Council. This event provides critical revenue for MAC that benefits artists, arts organizations and arts projects, both directly and indirectly, throughout Greenville County. The event has allowed MAC to distribute hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past seven years. Downtown Alive is scheduled every Thursday night from 5:30 - 8:30PM (9PM July-August). The weekly event is held at the Hyatt Regency Greenville Plaza Deck in downtown Greenville. Admission is free. The 2009 Schedule is below:
Bring a picture ID if you intend to purchase alcohol. In order to purchase or consume alcohol within the permit area, you must be 21-years of age (or older), present a valid picture ID, and purchase a City of Greenville approved wristband for $1.00; times for sales and consumption of alcohol will be posted at the ticket purchase locations. Downtown Alive does not provide seating at the event so feel free to bring a chair, dancing shoes just in case, a smile and a song in your heart! Please do not bring coolers, pets, bicycles, skateboard, frowns, or bad attitudes! (Image provided by Downtown Alive.)
