The S.C. Department of Natural Resources is partnering with PalmettoPride in a coordinated effort to reduce areas of excessive litter “hot spots” around the state.
Palmetto Pride also announces the “Trash Tracker” mobile phone app that will allow residents to report litter issues and request services through an on-line and mobile interface.
PalmettoPride currently maintains a toll free number: 877-7LITTER (877-754-8837). This number allows the public to report anyone throwing litter from a vehicle. The caller is asked to provide the location, time and license tag number of the vehicle.
Information received from these tools provided by PalmettoPride will be used to track down and clean up litter “hot spots.” Reports received from the public will be added to the regular list of work orders among the agencies in the partnership.
