Greenville County Schools announces several changes in administrative leadership that will be effective for the 2014-15 school year.
Brenda Byrd will assume responsibilities as Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership, Elementary Level Group 1. Mrs. Byrd currently serves as principal of Bethel Elementary School. She previously served as principal of Mitchell Road Elementary, assistant principal of Buena Vista Elementary and Hillcrest Middle, and was a teacher at Bryson Middle and in Anderson School District 5. Mrs. Byrd earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Clemson University.
G. Bryan Skipper will replace retiring principal Steve Chamness at Hillcrest High School in July. Mr. Skipper currently serves as principal of South Aiken High School, and has previous experience as an assistant principal and teacher. Mr. Skipper earned a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, master’s degree from Furman, and Educational Leadership Certification from Augusta State University.

reenville High Academy will welcome Jason S. Warren as the new principal in July. Mr. Warren is currently serving as principal of Beck Middle Academy. He has previous service as an assistant principal, administrator for special needs, and director of bands. Mr. Warren earned a bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University, master’s degree from Clemson University, and an EdS in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Warren will replace JF Lucas, who will assume leadership of Golden Strip Career Center this fall.
Eric Williams will assume the principalship of Wade Hampton High School, replacing Lance Radford who has accepted an assistant superintendent position in another district. Mr. Williams currently serves as principal of Riverside Middle School. He has served as assistant principal, administrative assistant, and teacher in Greenville County Schools. Mr. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University, master’s degree from Furman University, and M.Ed. and Educational Leadership Certification from the University of South Carolina.
Charles Ratterree will assume the position of Assistant Director of the Fine Arts Center in July. Mr. Ratterree is CEO and Chief Strategy Officer at DNA Creative Communications. He has previous experience as CEO and Chief Strategy Officer, Executive Vice President, Art Director, Marketing Manager, and Visual Artist and Writer with various corporations. Mr. Ratterree earned a bachelor’s degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a master’s degree from Yale University.
